Washback Effects of IELTS Test on Teachers’ Adoption of Teaching Materials in the Classroom in China

چکیده

This study investigates washback effects of IELTS test on university teachers’ adoption teaching materials in the classroom China and see how a high-stake language exam affects their practices they students perceive effectiveness pedagogic adjustments. To this end, individual interview to five teacher participants was carried out questionnaire administered over 100 students. The results show positive effect as, influenced by IETLS students’ needs achieve high scores test, teachers sought focus more IELTS-related content textbooks adopt extra help improve performance. Also, recognized arrangements class believed such were useful enhancing scores. Moreover, choices modifications not determined tests only but rather result coaction between various factors including state’s educational policies, personal research areas, rationale abilities modify materials.
